Tony and Maria Hernandez

Pastor Tony and Maria have been married for 39 years, 40 this December. They met in New York City. Pastor T and Maria were both born in Puerto Rico and lived in the Bronx N.Y for many years before moving to New Bedford in 1970. Pastor T has his Master's in Education and is a Licensed Social Worker. Since 1970 he has worked with different New Bedford organizations helping people in the community.

Pastor T also served in the Army as a Chaplain's Assistant. Pastor T’s zeal in New York City was working with the youth. He was able to accomplish this by serving as a Sunday School Teacher. For many years he preached in the streets of the Bronx and now has become a Minister. He has served in various capacities in the church.

Pastor T’s passion has been teaching, preaching and reaching souls for Christ.

Pastor T indicated that without Christ and his wonderful wife by his side none of this would have been possible.

Maria has her Bachelor’s in Social Services. Maria has worked for many years with the elderly and disabled. She is currently working for Peabody Residence Services Inc. doing case management and outreach throughout MA.

Maria was a Sunday School Teacher for many years and worker with the women groups. Presently she is assisting Monique with the Girls Only Group on Wednesday’s.

Pastor T and Maria have three wonderful children and 8 grandchildren.
